Annett (nee Allchin)
Here
is a very rare picture - my grandmother Ellen Allchin as a young
person. I think the child is Fred, because if more children had
been born at that time, they'd be in the picture. She would be
in her late 20s at that time. She looks tired even then. She never
changed her hairdo in all the years I knew her and she was always
tiny and thin. She died approximately 1966 or 1967.
My
parents Gladys Eleanor Wesley and Philip Allchin in 1937. She
still loves to ride Harleys and was on one about 5 years ago.
She kept her black leather jacket for a long time but I think
she got rid of it when she moved from Windsor to Havelock, Ontario
- about 30 miles from me. My mom and dad were married August 31,
1940
On the left is Fred about age 18, Marjorie about 14, Denis about 5, Audrey about 11, and my dad Philip about 9. All the Allchin
men (including my son) have the same hairline - balding up the
2 sides and still a bit in the middle.
This
is Martin Allchin at about age35?? with Fred as a young child
taken around 1911??

This is the wedding picture of my aunt and uncle Denis and Patricia
Allchin. My dad, Phil Allchin on the left, was the best man. The
groom was 24, the bride was 23, and the best man was 27. I didn't
know the brides maid.
